Retired racing hounds Lilly and Dotty need a home to get back on track

A pair of former racing greyhounds who found themselves at Cheltenham Animal Shelter after a fast-paced life on the racecourse, are looking for a new family to love them and get their lives back on track. Naturally, Lilly and Dotty, who came to the shelter at the same time, have a shared love of zooming around.

After spending their lives training to race at high speed around a track, what experience either Lilly or Dotty has in a home environment is unknown and it could take time, love, and care to get them settled and used to indoor living. But if you have the space in your home, an enclosed garden, and an open heart for this speedy doggy duo, perhaps you could show Lilly and Dotty a slower and happier pace of life.

Both former athletes love quiet walking areas and playing with toys, especially chasing games. With a love of zooming around, and a high prey drive from their life on the track, Dotty and Lilly can only be re-homed where there are no small animals or cats.

However, if you are not sure that you could keep up with this speedy pair, there are 16 other dogs at the Cheltenham Animal Shelter that are in desperate need of a new start in life and a new family to love them. If you would like to adopt any of these wonderful dogs, and you match their requirements, email Cheltenham Animal Shelter to find out more about adopting them: [email protected].

You can find out more about the dogs in need of a new home on the Cheltenham Animal Shelter website.
